Colfax County can be found in the northeastern region of Nebraska. Its county seat is Schuyler. Founded in 1869, the county as well as the county seat was named after a US Vice President, Schuyler Colfax. The county was a total area of 417 square miles with a population of 10,515 (2010). The area is bordered in the north by Stanton County, in the northeast by Cuming County, in the east by Dodge County, in the south by Butler County, and in the west by Platte County.
