Blaine County can be found in Central Nebraska. Brewster is the county seat. The county was created in 1885 and named in honor of James G. Blaine, a US presidential candidate. The county’s total area is 714 square miles while the population is 478 based on the 2010 census. Blaine County is bordered in the north by Brown County, in the east by Loup County, in the south by Custer County, in the southwest by Logan County, in the west by Thomas County, and in the northwest by Cherry County.
