Glacier County Clerk and Recorder’s Office Information

The Clerk and Recorder is an elected official of the county. The primary administrative duty of this office is recording and maintaining the majority of all the legal documents relating to real estate records, land descriptions, county birth and death records, and the records of the Board of County Commissioners. The Clerk and Recorder’s Office also the Election Department and administer the maintenance of the voter registration files, candidate filings and all aspects of the election process. The documents that are recorded and filed are: deeds, mortgages, powers of attorney, military discharges, oil and gas leases, liens, certificates of surveys and subdivision plats. The Clerk and Recorder’s Office also maintains and issues birth and death certificates.
