Garfield County is located in the U.S. state of Montana. The county was formed in 1919 and named after James A. Garfield, the twentieth President of the United States. The county seat is Jordan. The clerk and recorder is the ex-officio recorder, registrar, and ex-officio clerk of the county commissioners of Garfield County. The clerk and recorder also serve as the ex-officio election administrator. As the ex-officio election administrator, the clerk handles all federal, state, and county and city elections. The clerk and recorder is also the administrator of the county budget.
