Dawson County is located in the U.S. state of Montana. The county was formed in 1865 and named after Andrew Dawson, a trapping official and major in the United States Army. Dawson County Clerk and Recorder’s Office Information

The Clerk & Recorder Office serves Dawson County by maintaining monthly accounting, a complete set of fiscal books and preparing the annual report; working with the board of commissioners including, preparing commissioner minutes, setting appointments, and working closely with commissioners in preparing and maintaining the annual County budget. This office also prepares claims and issues all warrants. The Clerk & Recorder’s office is responsible for the filing and microfilming of all documents.
