The Circuit Court Clerk receives, processes, and maintains the judgments’, rules orders, and all other proceedings of the court, issues and processes summons, subpoenas, executions, garnishments, sequestrations, judgments, orders, and commitments. Scott County Recorder of Deeds Office Information

The Recorder of Deeds is an elected position. The Recorder of Deeds records, maintains and preserves real estate/land records for Scott County in a historical perspective. This office is responsible for recording legal documents such as plats of cities in Scott County, land transfers, military discharges, home school affidavits, county surveys, deeds of trust, federal and state tax liens, and marriage licenses. The Recorder’s office also holds documents of historical and genealogical significance. These records include land transfers (begin in 1820), deeds of trust/mortgages (begin in 1869), and marriage licenses (begin in 1840). Copies of documents are available for a fee of $1 per page. All recorded documents (from 1999 to present) can be accessed online for a monthly registration fee. Recording fees are $24 for the first page and $3 for each additional page.
