Cass County is located in the U.S. state of Missouri. The county was formed in 1835 and named after U.S. Senator Lewis Cass of Michigan who later became a presidential candidate. The Circuit Clerk is responsible for maintaining complete and accurate records of the court; collecting, accounting for and disbursing all monies paid into the court; and performing other duties, as necessary, to assist the court in performing its duties. Cass County Recorder of Deeds Office Information

The Cass County Recorder’s office is the repository for all Cass County land transactions. The Recorder’s duties include reviewing, processing, recording and delivering back to the submitter all transfers of property and related documents in a timely manner. The Cass County Recorder’s office is also responsible for indexing, scanning, microfilming and providing certified copies of surveys, plats, deeds, deeds of trust, assignments, release deeds, powers of attorney, deed restrictions, federal and state tax liens, Uniform Commercial Code fixture filings, and other instruments of writing. In addition, the Recorder’s Office also handles marriage licenses and records military discharge papers.
