Audrain County is located in the U.S. state of Missouri. The county was formed in 1831 and named after James H. Audrain, a War of 1812 colonel Missouri State Legislator. The county seat is Mexico. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 697 square miles of which 692 square miles is land and 4.6 square miles is water.     Audrain County Recorder’s Office Information

    The County Recorder of Deeds keeps official records of real estate transfers, deeds of trust, UCC subdivision plats, surveys, and discharges from armed services, tax liens, and marriage licenses. Audrain County Recorder’s Office maintains records of all documents dealing with land transactions in Audrain County. This office has land records since 1837 and is indexed by year and name. The recording fees to record any document except plats, surveys, service discharges and tax liens will be $24.00 for the first page and $3.00 a page for each page following in that document.
