Yalobusha County Overview

Yalobusha County, Mississippi was established in 1834 and has dual county seats in Water Valley and Coffeeville; however, Water Valley is the largest community. The county had a population of 12,678 as of the 2010 census. Yalobusha is a Native American word meaning “tadpole place,” and before the county was formed, it was the home of both the Choctaw and Chickasaw Indian tribes. Since the 1960s, Yalobusha County has attracted new industries to boost its economic growth. At present, its two largest employers have a combined total of more than 2,000 employees, and several other industries provide hundreds of additional jobs for county residents. With a total area of 467 square miles of land, plus 28 square miles of water, the county neighbors five other Mississippi counties: Lafayette to the northeast, Calhoun to the east, Grenada to the south, Tallahatchie to the west, and Panola to the northwest. The county is home to a portion of nationally protected Holly Springs National Forest. There are six zip codes assigned to the county, the most populous is 38965.

I need to get copies of divorce decrees from 1981 and 1983. Can I do this online or must I come to the courthouse to get them. These divorces were obtained in Coffeeville. Thanks for your assistance.
