Swift County is located in the U.S. state of Minnesota. The county was formed in 1870 and named after Henry Adoniram Swift, the third governor of Minnesota (1863-1864). The county seat is Benson. The County Land Records Office is the custodian of all records of the county pertaining to property titles and transfers. The records include real estate property titles, transfers, and plats within the Swift County. These records are used by abstractors, attorneys, title companies, realtors, lending institutions, surveyors, homeowners, and the general public. The Judge of District Court appoints a competent attorney to be an Examiner of Titles and then that person becomes the legal advisor to the Registrar of Titles.
