Roseau County is located in the U.S. state of Minnesota. The county was formed in 1894 and named after Roseau River and Roseau Lake, both of which are located nearby. The county seat is Roseau. Roseau County Recorder’s Office Information
The primary responsibility of the Roseau County Recorder’s Office is recording, indexing, and maintaining over 150 different types of legal documents. The Recorder’s Office also creates Certificates of Title for registered land. The Office also provides information and copies of recorded documents to the public and preserves all information and documents through images and stores images off-site. The County Recorder budgets all necessary budgetary items that the Recorder’s Office will need to properly record all documents and document types according to Minnesota Statutes.
Other duties of the Recorder’s Office include:

- Passport applications
- Prepare and certify owners and encumbrance reports on individual tracts of land
