Roseau County Recorder’s Office Information

The primary responsibility of the Roseau County Recorder’s Office is recording, indexing, and maintaining over 150 different types of legal documents. The Recorder’s Office also creates Certificates of Title for registered land. The Office also provides information and copies of recorded documents to the public and preserves all information and documents through images and stores images off-site. The County Recorder budgets all necessary budgetary items that the Recorder’s Office will need to properly record all documents and document types according to Minnesota Statutes.

Other duties of the Recorder’s Office include:

  • Record all military discharges presented and provide certified copies with a request form
  • Passport applications
  • Prepare and certify owners and encumbrance reports on individual tracts of land
