Renville County Assessor’s Office Information

The Assessor’s Office directs, plans, and supervises the appraisal and recording of all property assessments in Renville County for property tax purpose as prescribed by Minnesota Statutes and the directives of the Commissioner of Revenue. The law specifically requires that every fifth year an appraiser must inspect all properties and record property characteristics that would affect the market value (such as construction quality, condition, age, size, etc.) in order to determine an opinion of market value on each particular property. An assessment notice is mailed in the spring of each year to the property owner. This form will indicate the property’s estimated market value from January 2 of the current year, along with the estimated market value from January 2 of the previous year, and the property’s appropriate classification (i.e., residential, commercial, agricultural).
