Dodge County is located in the U.S. state of Minnesota. The county was formed in 1855 and named after Henry Dodge, a former governor of Wisconsin. The county seat is Mantorville. According to the U.S. Census Bureau of 2013, the county has a population of approximately 20,349 people. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 440 square miles of which 439 square miles is land and 0.3 square miles is water. Dodge County borders the following counties: Rice County to the northwest; Goodhue County to the northeast; Olmsted County to the east; Mower County to the south and Steele County to the west. Dodge County Recorder’s Office Information

The Dodge County Recorder’s Office records and preserves all permanent records pertaining to real estate in Dodge County. Documents such as deeds, mortgages, contracts, mechanics liens, mortgage assignments and releases, official plats of land in city and rural areas, etc., are all recorded by the Recorder’s Office. All documents similar to the ones listed above which are related to the Torrens land system are also recorded in this office with the Registrar of Titles.

The Recorder’s Office also provides abstracting services which include updating existing abstracts and creating new abstracts as well as performing tract searches and owners’ and encumbrances reports. Other miscellaneous services offered by this office are recording military service discharges, issuing of certified birth, death and marriage records, processing applications for marriage licenses, filing notary public commissions, renewing driver licenses and state ID cards, and taking passport photos.
