Menominee County, Michigan Overview

Located on the southernmost tip of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, Menominee County is named for a word meaning ‘wild rice eater.’ It is 1,338 square miles, with 294 of that being water. The County Clerk for Menominee County is responsible for ordering and proofing all ballots, producing totals, filing and recording birth, death and marriage records, overseeing county payroll, military discharge papers, personal protection orders, concealed weapons permits and circuit and family court filings. They are also responsible for notary public records. These documents are all available via the County Clerk, in person, during normal business hours. These records are not available online.

The Register of Deeds is responsible for all documents related to property records including warranty and quit claim deeds, liens, leases and mortgages.
