The County Clerk is responsible for birth, death and marriage records as well as all marriage license applications, notary public information, concealed weapons license applications, military discharge papers, divorce packets, DBA’s and genealogy information, as well as any requests for court information. Most of this information is considered public record and is therefore available for request, copying and more. These require a fee, however, which is varied depending on the specific type of record as well as the number of pages in that record.
The Register of Deeds is responsible for recording information related to documents related to land and property within the county. These documents are considered to be public record as soon as they have been recorded and that means anyone can request them and copy them for a fee. Requests can be made in person, with the Register of Deeds, but are not available online.

The Equalization Department of Chippewa County is the assessment department and is responsible for properties throughout the county.

Getting any information from the Equalization Office requires you to visit during normal business hours aside from a set type of additional information. For example, a parcel search can be found online as well as Ortho imagery, city number lists, parcel number information and township number lists. Chippewa Court Records Information

Court records are available from the county clerk for $1 per page for regular copies or $10 for the first page of a certified copy and $1 per page after that. Pages can be requested and paid in person during normal business hours or they can be paid directly on the website Record request forms must also be completed and can be either faxed or emailed in order to get the information, though this costs an additional fee.

Chippewa County Marriage License Office
In order to obtain a marriage license in Chippewa County, the applicants must apply together, in person, at the County Clerk’s office. Both parties must present their state-issued picture ID, military ID, or passport, and know their social security number
