West Carroll Parish, Louisiana Overview

West Carroll parish is located at the northern portion of Louisiana in the Sportsman’s Paradise region. The Parish is land-locked and is approximately 361 square miles of which only .9 square miles is water. It was named after Charles Carroll, the only Roman Catholic signer of the Declaration of Independence and the last surviving signer of the document. The Parish was split in two in 1877 caused by major differences in views stemming from the Civil War. It is bordered by Chicot Parish, Arkansas to the north, East Carroll Parish to the east, Richland Parish to the south, and Morehouse Parish to the west.
