St. John the Baptist Parish, Louisiana Overview

St. John the Baptist parish is located in the south eastern part of Louisiana in the Plantation Country region. This parish is approximately 348 square miles of which 135 square miles are water. Named after St. John the Baptist from the Bible. St. John the Baptist Parish is bordered by Tangipahoa Parish to the north, St. Charles Parish to the southeast, Lafourche Parish to the south, St. James parish to the west, and Ascension and Livingston Parishes to the northwest. The Parish Clerk for St. John the Baptist Parish is responsible for personal protection orders, concealed weapons permits, voter registration, election results, circuit court filings, military discharges, circuit court filings, assumed names and notary public documents.
