Richland Parish is named for the rich fertile land the settlers found here. It is bordered by Morehouse Parish to the north, East and West Carroll Parish to the north east, Madison Parish to the east, Franklin Parish to the southeast, Caldwell Parish to the southwest, and Ouachita Parish to the west.
