Madison Parish is in the northeastern part of Louisiana in the Sportsman’s Paradise region along the Mississippi River. The Parish is landlocked and is 651 square miles in size of which 26 square miles is water. Madison Parish is named after James Madison, the 4th President of the United States. It is bordered by East Carroll parish to the north, Warren Parish, Mississippi to the east, Tensas Parish to the south, Franklin Parish to the southwest, and Richland Parish to the northwest.
