Grant Parish, Louisiana Overview

Grant Parish is located at the center of Louisiana in the Crossroads Region. This land-locked parish is 665 square miles in size of which 22 square miles is water. Grant Parish is named after Union General and American President Ulysses S. Grant. It is bordered by Winn parish to the north, La Salle parish to the east, Rapides Parish to the south, and Natchitoches Parish to the west. The Parish Clerk is responsible for personal protection orders, notary public documents, vital records, voter registration, election results, circuit court filings, concealed weapons permits, assumed names and military discharges. These documents are available to request for a fee, but are not considered public record. That means, aside from election results, they can only be requested by those who are named in them. Documents from this office are not available online and must be requested in person, at the office.
The Register of Deeds is responsible for warranties, deeds, liens, leases, mortgages and other property related documents. These documents are considered public record and can be requested at any time, and by anyone. There are fees associated with requesting any of these documents. They are not available online and requests must be made in person, during normal business hours.
