Caldwell Parish is located in the northern portion of Louisiana in the Sportsman’s Paradise region. Caldwell parish is landlocked and has a total size of 541 square miles of which 11 square miles is water. It is named after a family that resides in the area. Caldwell parish is bordered by Ouachita Parish to the north, Richland Parish to the northeast, Franklin parish to the east, Catahoula Parish to the southeast, La Salle Parish to the south, Winn parish to the southwest, and Jackson Parish to the northwest. The Parish Clerk is responsible for personal protection orders, assumed names, vital records, circuit court filings and fees, election results, voter registration, concealed weapons permits, military discharges, family court information and notary public documents. These documents must be requested by the individual that they are about as they are not considered public record. The exception to this is election results.
