Taylor County is located in the U.S. state of Kentucky. The county was formed in 1848 and named after Zachary Taylor, a former President of the United States (1849–50). The county seat is Campbellsville. According to the U.S. Census Bureau of 2013, the county has a population of approximately 24,649 people. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 277 square miles of which 266 square miles is land and 10 square miles is water. Taylor County borders the following counties: Marion County to the north; Casey County to the east; Adair County to the southeast/CST Border; Green County to the south & west/CST Border and LaRue County to the northwest. The County Clerk of Taylor County is responsible for vehicle registration and licenses, issuing marriage licenses, fishing and hunting licenses, and collecting delinquent taxes.
