Menifee County, Kentucky Overview

Menifee County is located in the U.S. state of Kentucky. The county was formed in 1869 and named after Richard H. Menefee, the former United States Congressman from Kentucky (1837–39). The county seat is Frenchburg. According to the U.S. Census Bureau of 2013, the county has a population of approximately 6,288 people. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 206 square miles of which 204 square miles is land and 2.3 square miles is water. Menifee County borders the following counties: Bath County to the north; Rowan County to the northeast; Morgan County to the east; Wolfe County to the south; Powell County to the southwest and Montgomery County to the west.
