Hickman County is located in the U.S. state of Kentucky. The county was formed in 1821 and named after Paschal Hickman, a military captain killed at the Battle of Frenchtown. Hickman County borders the following counties: Carlisle County to the north; Graves County to the east; Weakley County, Tennessee to the southeast; Obion County, Tennessee to the south; Fulton County to the south and Mississippi County, Missouri to the west. Hickman County Clerk’s Office Information
The County Clerk of Hickman County is responsible for issuing marriages, boat licenses, hunting/fishing licenses, registering motor vehicles, registering and purging voter rolls, and conducting elections. The Clerk also provides Notary Public services, collects delinquent taxes and performs other tax duties. The County Clerk is also responsible for recording and keeping various legal and land records. These legal and land records include deeds, condominiums, corporate records, fixture and other UCC filings, land records fees, land use restrictions, liens, mortgages, plats, releases, veteran’s discharges, guardianships, and wills. The Hickman County Clerk’s office has deeds and mortgage records dating back to 1795. The records are open to the public for inspection. The records can be viewed online or by visiting the County Clerk’s office in person during office hours. Making copies of the records are allowed. If you want to mail copies it is $1 per page.
