Henry County is located in the U.S. state of Kentucky. The county was formed in 1798 and named after Patrick Henry, a Revolutionary War-era legislator, and U.S. founding father. The county seat is New Castle. According to the U.S. Census Bureau of 2013, the county has a population of approximately 15,445 people. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 291 square miles of which 286 square miles is land and 4.8 square miles is water. Henry County borders the following counties: Carroll County to the north; Owen County to the east; Franklin County to the southeast; Shelby County to the south; Oldham County to the west and Trimble County to the northwest.
