Clinton County is located in the U.S. state of Kentucky. The county was formed in 1835 and named after DeWitt Clinton, the former Governor of New York. The county seat is Albany. According to the U.S. Census Bureau of 2013, the county has a population of approximately 10,146 people. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 205 square miles of which 197 square miles is land and 8.2 square miles is water. Clinton County borders the following counties: Russell County to the north; Wayne County to the east/EST border; Pickett County, Tennessee to the south; Clay County, Tennessee to the southwest and Cumberland County to the west. The primary responsibilities of the Clinton County Clerk’s Office are motor vehicle licensing, voter registration, administering elections, recording land records, issuing marriage licenses, notary bonds and processing delinquent real estate taxes. Land records include deeds, condominiums, corporate records, fixture and other UCC filings, land records fees, land use restrictions, liens, mortgages, plats, releases, and wills.
