Clark County is located in the U.S. state of Kentucky. The county was formed in 1792 and named after George Rogers Clark, a Revolutionary War General. The county seat is Winchester. According to the U.S. Census Bureau of 2013, the county has a population of approximately 35,614 people. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 255 square miles of which 252 square miles is land and 2.7 square miles is water. Clark County borders the following counties: Bourbon County to the north; Montgomery County to the northeast; Powell County to the southeast; Estill County to the southeast; Madison County to the southwest and Fayette County to the northwest. Clark County Clerk’s Office Information

The Clark County Clerk’s Office is responsible for titling and registration of motor vehicles, issuing marriage licenses and selling hunting and fishing licenses. The Clerk’s Office is also responsible for issuing notary bonds, recording fiscal court records, wills and for the collection of delinquent real estate taxes.
