Bourbon County, Kentucky Overview

Bourbon County is located in the U.S. state of Kentucky. The county was formed in 1785 and named after the House of Bourbon, European royal house. The county seat is Paris. According to the U.S. Census Bureau of 2013, the county has a population of approximately 19,998 people. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 292 square miles of which 290 square miles is land and 1.9 square miles is water. Bourbon County borders the following counties: Harrison County to the northwest; Nicholas County to the northeast; Bath County to the east; Montgomery County to the southeast; Clark County to the south; Fayette County to the southwest and Scott County to the west. Bourbon County Clerk’s Office Information

The Bourbon County Clerk’s Office offers various services such as vehicle registrations, vehicle tag renewals, title transfers, motor vehicle transactions, voter registration, administering all elections, recording all land records, issuing fishing and hunting licenses, notary bonds and processing delinquent real estate taxes. The Clerk’s Office is also responsible for recording and maintaining all public records pertaining to the county. Documents that are recorded and preserved are deeds, mortgages, liens, and marriage licenses. Land records include deeds, condominiums, corporate records, fixture and other UCC filings, land records fees, land use restrictions, liens, mortgages, plats, releases, and wills.
