Register of Deeds

The Register of Deeds office is the county office where transactions involving real estate are recorded, such as deeds, mortgages, mortgage assignments and releases, oil and gas leases and related instruments, affidavits of various types, mineral deeds, sale of oil and gas royalty, powers of attorney, affidavits of equitable interest, plat additions, military discharges, and federal and state tax liens.

All records in this office are open to the public with the exception of the Kansas Real Estate Sales Validation Questionnaire, which is a closed record (with a few exceptions) by state statute. Copy charges are $0.50 for all hard copies. Faxed copies are billed at $1.00 per page and $.50 for each page if printout is necessary. Copies of records from patent to present can be emailed at a charge of $1.00/first page + .25/each additional page. Please note that not all records are available to email at this time, but scanning is currently underway. Index pages can be copied or emailed at a charge of $5.00/page. Only indexes from 1985 – present can be copied & emailed.

District Court
