The County Clerk is an elected position. The Clerk’s Office provides the county and citizens a wide range of services:

Register of Deeds

The Register of Deeds is responsible for filing and recording all transactions related to real estate in Pottawatomie County. The Register of Deeds also files financing statements. These include federal and certain tax liens, mechanics liens for automobile repair and liens on fixtures attached to the land. Additionally, the Register of Deeds office became the custodian of the rural school records for the disbanded office of County Superintendent.

Appraiser

The Appraiser’s Office annually appraises and assesses each parcel of real property and personal property accurately, uniformly, and according to law.

The appraiser provides a parcel search feature. The public link (Level 1) allows users to view information used by their office to assist in the valuation of real estate. In addition, there is an additional link (Levels 2 and 3) available to certified appraisers, lenders and real estate agents to view sales data.
