Miami County is a county located in the state of Kansas. The county was formed in August 25, 1855. Named after Miami tribe, the county seat is Paola and it has a population of 32835 as of 2013. The county has a total area of 590 square miles, with its land area encompassing 576 square miles, and its water area 15 square miles. The county consists of 11 ZIP codes, with ZIP code 66071 recorded as the one with the largest population. Register of Deeds

The function of the register of deeds office is to preserve and maintain the land records of Miami County.

All records in this office are open to the public with the exception of the Kansas Real Estate Sales Validation Questionnaire (SVQ) and military discharges, closed by State statute. Appraiser

The office of the county appraiser is established for the purpose of providing the appraisals for the ad valorem tax base. It is an appointed office with the responsibility to discover, list, appraise, and maintain records of the data relating to all taxable and exempt real and personal property within Miami County.

District Court

The Kansas Open Records Act allows you to inspect and obtain copies of public records maintained by Kansas courts, as long as those records are not exempt from disclosure. Some case information is available online through appellate case search or district case search (fee-based). Many records maintained by Kansas courts are open for inspection.
