Marshall County is located in the state of Kansas. The county was formed in August 25, 1855 and named after Frank J. Marshall. The county seat is Marysville. As of 2013, the county has a population of 10002. The county has a total area of 905 square miles, 900 square miles of which is land, and 4.9 square miles is water. Marshall County Clerk Information
The County Clerk serves as the official secretary for the Board of County Commissioners. The Clerk has various duties relating to property tax levies and tax roll preparation of all school districts, cities, townships, and other taxing authorities must file their budgets with the Clerk. The Clerk also issues Payroll and Accounts Payable checks and maintains the appropriate financial reports for the yearly audit. Register of Deeds
The Marshall County Register of Deeds Office keeps the ownership of all real estate in the county through a daily updated set of index books as well as by maintaining a computerized record since 1987. An objective of the Marshall County Register of Deeds office is to continue keeping accurate records while seeking the technical advancements that secure progress into the future.

The appraisal of property, except for utility owned property, for the purpose of property taxes in Kansas is the responsibility of the County Appraiser.

All cases in Marshall County District Court are filed in the office of the Clerk of the District Court, including probate, mental illness, alcohol treatment, criminal, adoption, juvenile offender, child in need of care, traffic, small claims, limited civil, divorce, parentage actions, protection from abuse, protection from stalking and civil actions.
