Leavenworth County is located in the state of Kansas. The county was formed in August 25, 1855 and named after Henry Leavenworth. The county seat is Leavenworth. Leavenworth County Clerk Information
The primary duties of the office, as required by law, are:
- Official secretary of the Board of County Commissioners
- Serves as the Leavenworth County Election Officer
- Prepares the tax roll for the county and then furnishes an abstract of the taxes to be collected by the County Treasurer
- Assists township and drainage districts with budget preparation
- Maintains the record of all special assessments, both county and city
- Transfers ownership of all real estate for tax assessment roll, accepts new plats and checks for accuracy
- Keeps records of all county receipts and expenditures

Register of Deeds
The Register of Deeds is responsible for all transactions relating to real estate located in Leavenworth County. This includes deeds, mortgages, affidavits, assignment, easement, oil and gas leases, surveys, death certificates, plats and maps. The Register of Deeds also files financing statements and security agreements on personal property under the uniform commercial code, Federal and state liens, and military discharges.
