Jefferson County is a county located in the state of Kansas. The county was formed in August 25, 1855. Named after President Thomas Jefferson, the county seat is Oskaloosa and it has a population of 18813 as of 2013. The county has a total area of 557 square miles, with its land area encompassing 533 square miles, and its water area 24 square miles. Jefferson County Clerk Information

The County Clerk’s Office handles many administrative duties for Jefferson County. These duties include:

  • Acts as the Secretary to the Board of County Commissioners by scheduling meetings, preparing and distributing the agenda and recording and distributing official meeting minutes.
