Coffey County is located in the state of Kansas. The county was formed in August 25, 1855 and named after Asbury M. Coffey. The county seat is Burlington. As of 2013, the county has a population of 8412. The county has a total area of 654 square miles, 627 square miles of which is land, and 27 square miles is water. Register of Deeds
The Register of Deeds office files and records documents that pertain to real estate. The County Appraiser is an appointed position with the responsibility to discover, list, appraise, and maintain records of the data relation to all taxable and exempt real and personal property within Coffey County.
