Mapping/GIS

The primary function of the Department is to locate, identify, and inventory real property both graphically and analytically for taxing purposes.

The Register of Deeds or their staff would be more than happy to answer whatever questions you may have. It is better if you personally visit the office. However, if you cannot, you may obtain certain information over the phone or via email. Online indexes for real estate information and GIS maps are also readily available at your disposal.

With the partnership of the Appraiser, a parcel search feature is made available by the county website. You can enter your credentials if you are a registered user or opt for public access. The public access search provides a comprehensive list of search criteria in which you can use to search for a parcel. Search criteria include address, parcel ID/number, property tract description, appraised value, property class, parcel acreage, and more. Comprehensive information about the parcel, like owner information and general property information, as well as many other information, are readily available in the search. With the partnership of the Mapping/GIS Department, a GIS map is also available to be viewed in desktop or mobile.
