As of 2013, the county has a population of 16749. The county has a total area of 434 square miles, 431 square miles of which is land, and 2.6 square miles is water. The Register of Deeds Office’s duties are to record, preserve, and maintain all the records pertaining to real estate in Atchison County, Kansas.
