Bremer County is a county in Iowa, and as of the 2010 census, the population was 24,276. Its county seat, and largest community is Waverly. The county was named for Fredricka Bremer, a Swedish traveler, poet, and author. The county was established in 1851 and has a total area of 439 square miles, 435 of which is land, and the remaining square miles if water. Both the Cedar and Wapsipinicon rivers cross through the county. Neighboring counties are all in Iowa and include: Butler to the west, Buchanan to the southeast, Black Hawk to the south, Floyd to the northwest, Fayette to the east and Chickasaw to the north.
