Miami County is located in the U.S. state of Indiana. The county was formed in 1833 and named after Miami Native American people. The county seat is Peru. According to the U.S. Census Bureau of 2013, the county has a population of approximately 36,140 people. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 377.39 square miles of which 373.84 square miles is land and 3.55 square miles is water. Miami County borders the following counties: Fulton County to the north; Wabash County to the east; Grant County to the southeast; Howard County to the south and Cass County to the west.
