Jasper County is located in the U.S. state of Indiana. The county was formed in 1835 and named after Sgt. William Jasper, the hero of the American Revolutionary War. The county seat is Rensselaer. The Clerk is an elected official who serves as an officer of the court, the manager of court information, and the chief financial officer for all revenues collected on behalf of the court. In the state of Indiana, the Clerk is the member of the Election Board, and is responsible for voter registration and overseeing and conducting all elections. The Clerk is responsible to administer and certify results for all federal, state, county, township, municipal, special and school board elections. Other duties of the Clerk are issuing marriage licenses, liquor licenses, issues birth and death certificates, and processing passport applications.
