Schuyler County is located in the state of Illinois. The county was formed in 1825 and named after Philip Schuyler, member of the Continental Congress and Senator from New York. The county seat is Rushville. As of 2013, the county has a population of 7444. The county has a total area of 441 square miles, 437 square miles of which is land, and 4.1 square miles is water. The county consists of 12 ZIP codes, with ZIP code 62681 recorded as the one with the largest population.
