Piatt County is a county located in the state of Illinois. The county was formed in 1841. Named after James A. Piatt after winning a coin flip against Jesse Warner, the county seat is Monticello and it has a population of 16433 as of 2013. The county has a total area of 439 square miles, with its land area encompassing 439 square miles, and its water area 0.3 square miles. The county consists of 14 ZIP codes, with ZIP code 61856 recorded as the one with the largest population. Piatt County Clerk Information

Authorized individuals may request and pay for certified copies of vital records to be mailed by the County Clerk’s office to the person named on the record or to a parent. In addition to the applicable fee for birth records, mail-in requests must include full name on birth record, date of birth, parents’ full names (including mother’s maiden name), a signature and return address. For marriage records, bride and groom’s full names (bride’s maiden name) and date of marriage will be required instead, while the full name of deceased and date of death are required for death records.
