Named after Robert Fulton, inventor of the steamboat, the county seat is Lewistown and it has a population of 36346 as of 2013. Fulton County Clerk Information

The County Clerk/Recorder provides a variety of services to the public. All Vital Records are maintained in the Clerk’s office. This includes all licenses for Marriage and Civil Unions, Certified Birth, and Death Certificates, while also maintaining copies of the same records. The Fulton County Clerk/Recorder’s Office is also the official land records office for all real estate located in the County. The Recorder’s primary responsibility is the accurate and timely maintenance and indexing of titles for Fulton County land.

To order a certified copy of your birth certificate by mail, you should print and complete the entire Application For Request of Record form available in the website. Send a legible/readable copy of your driver’s license/photo I.D, as well as a money order (no personal checks) for required fee payable to Fulton County Clerk.

Court Clerk Information

The Clerk of the Circuit Court, commonly known as the Circuit Clerk, is the keeper of the files and records of the Circuit Court. The office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court is responsible for maintaining a record of all traffic, civil, and criminal cases filed and heard in Fulton County. The office also issues summons, attachments, subpoenas, and all other tasks as mandated by the courts.

All court records are public records, thus such files are available for public inspection. You are welcome to view all court files not impounded or sealed. These files are available for viewing at their office. Copies are $2 for the first page, $0.50 per page for the next 20 pages, then $0.25 per page for pages thereafter.
