Valley County, Idaho Overview

Valley County is located in the U.S. state of Idaho. The county was formed in 1917 and named after Long Valley located in the county. The county seat is Cascade. According to the U.S. Census Bureau of 2013, the county has a population of approximately 9,606 people. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 3,733 square miles, of which 3,665 square miles is land and 68 square miles is water. Valley County borders the following counties: Idaho County to the north; Adams County to the west; Gem County to the southwest; Boise County to the south; Custer County to the east; and Lemhi County to the east. Valley County has five zip codes. The zip codes are 83611, 83615, 83638, 83657, and 83677. The most populated zip code is 83638.

Valley County Clerk, Auditor, and Recorder’s Office Information

The Clerk of the District Court also serves as Auditor, Recorder and as Clerk of the Board of Commissioners. The County Clerk also issues licenses such as marriage, liquor, wine and catering permits. The Clerk also processes passport applications. The County Auditors are responsible for maintaining an accurate financial system for all departments. The Clerk’s Office also accepts indigent payments. The Clerk’s Office also provides copies of County contracts, levies, and information about the county’s budgets and elections.
