Lincoln County is located in the U.S. state of Idaho. The county was formed in 1895 and named after Abraham Lincoln, the sixteenth President of the United States. The county seat is Shoshone. According to the U.S. Census Bureau of 2013, the county has a population of approximately 5,315 people. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 1,206 square miles, of which 1,201 square miles is land and 4.5 square miles is water. Lincoln County borders the following counties: Camas County to the northwest; Blaine County to the north; Minidoka County to the east; Jerome County to the south; and Gooding County to the west.
