Jerome County is located in the U.S. state of Jerome. The county was formed in 1919 and named either after North Side Irrigation Project developer Jerome Hill, or his son-in-law Jerome Kuhn, or his grandson Jerome Kuhn, Jr. The county seat is Jerome. According to the U.S. Census Bureau of 2013, the county has a population of approximately 22,514 people. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 602 square miles, of which 597 square miles is land and 5.0 square miles is water. Jerome County borders the following counties: Lincoln County to the north; Gooding County to the west; Twin Falls County to the south; Cassia County to the southeast; and Minidoka County to the east.
