Bonner County is located in the U.S. state of Idaho. The county was formed in 1907 and named after
Edwin L. Bonner, the originator of an 1864 ferry service on the Kootenai River. The county seat is Sandpoint. According to the U.S. Census Bureau of 2013, the county has a population of approximately 40,699 people. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 1,919 square miles, of which 1,735 square miles, is land and 185 square miles is water. Bonner County borders the following counties: Boundary County to the north; Lincoln County, Montana to the east; Sanders County, Montana to the southeast; Shoshone County to the southeast ; Kootenai County to the south; Spokane County, Washington to the southwest; and Pend Oreille, Washington to the northwest. Bonner County Clerk Office Information
The Bonner County Clerk serves as the Clerk of the District Court and as the County Auditor and Recorder. The County Clerk also serves as the Clerk to the Board of County Commissioners and is the Chief Elections Officer for the entire county. The Bonner County Clerk also oversees the County Assistance Office. Over 40 deputy clerks work in the various offices under the Clerk assisting in carrying out the activities in these departments:
