Boise County Clerk, Auditor, Recorder’s Office Information

The Clerk is responsible for recording deeds, grants, transfers and mortgages of real estate, releases of mortgages, powers of attorney to convey real estate and leases, and transcripts of judgments or decrees. The Clerk’s other responsibilities include recording certificates of marriage and marriage contracts, wills admitted to probate, official bonds, notice of mechanics’ liens, transcripts of judgments which are made liens upon real estate by law, notices of preemption claims, notices of attachments upon real estate, and notices of the pendency of an action affecting real estate, the title thereto or possession thereof. The Clerk is also responsible for recording instruments describing or relating to the separate property of married women, notices of preemption claims, and certifying copies of any petitions. The Clerk also issues marriage licenses, liquor licenses, and birth/death certificates.

The recording fee is $10.00 for the first page and $3.00 for each additional page for most documents.
