Bannock County, Idaho Overview

Bannock County is located in the U.S. state of Idaho. The county was formed in 1893 and named after the local Bannock tribe. The county seat is Pocatello. According to the U.S. Census Bureau of 2013, the county has a population of approximately 83,249 people. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 1,147 square miles, of which 1,112 square miles is land and 35 square miles is water. Bannock County borders the following counties: Bingham County to the north; Caribou County to the east; Franklin County to the southeast; Oneida County to the southwest; and Power County to the west. Bannock County Clerk’s Office Information

The County Clerk performs the duties of the Auditor, County Clerk, Recorder, and Elections.

Auditor
The Clerk is the county’s chief budget and financial officer. The Auditor’s office manages all county revenues and payments and prepares the county’s payroll. Auditing staff prepares the annual county budget, monitors the budget’s execution, and prepares the county’s year-end financial reports.

Clerk of the District Court
The Clerk provides clerical support for the courts and is responsible for the processing and maintenance of all court records generated and filed with the county’s District and Magistrate Courts.

Clerk of the County Commissioners
The Clerk assists the Commissioners with the transaction of county business, records all proceedings of the board, signs all orders and warrants, and attests to the actions of the board.

Elections
