Adams County is located in the U.S. state of Idaho. The county was formed in 1911 and named after John Adams, the second President of the United States. The county seat is Council. According to the U.S. Census Bureau of 2013, the county has a population of approximately 3,828 people. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 1,370 square miles, of which 1,363 square miles is land and 6.7 square miles is water. Adams County borders the following counties: Idaho County to the north; Valley County to the east; Gem County to the southeast; Washington County to the south; Baker County, Oregon to the southwest; and Wallowa County, Oregon to the northwest. Adams County Clerk, Auditor, and Recorder Office Information

The Clerk of the district court serves as ex officio auditor and recorder as well as the clerk of the board of county commissioners.

The Auditor serves as the county budget and accounting officer. Primary responsibilities include compiling budget requests, submitting the budget to the board of county commissioner, recording appropriations made to county agencies, keeping accounting records on the expenditures, balances and revenues in the County Fund, and matching the outstanding liabilities against these appropriations and the expenditures made against the appropriations; keeping accounting records on the revenues, expenditures and balances in each county fund. Other responsibilities of the Auditor are preparing and remitting checks to employees, vendors, and other parties entitled to payments.

The Recorder is responsible to record and preserve records of all documents recorded in Adams County. Documents recorded by the Recorder are marriage licenses, passport records, land records, liens, judgments, surveys, easements, mortgages, deeds, grants and conveyances of real property, etc.
